DC power supplies of the type DB-GV / DB TY are providing the energy supply of reailway loads and networks and have proven their reliability since many years in construction area of railway systems and railway transport companies. The devices are typically manufactured with maximum output voltages up to 900 volts and a capacity to 1MVA.
The main application areas are:
- Testing and operation of DC motors
- Simulation of contact wire voltages and associated fluctuations
- Feed into local contact wire voltage networks
The Series TY-DB / DB GV have been specifically designed for the supply of electric loads in test field/service environments.
Due to its robust design and mobility (rollable steel casing up to 100kW) these systems are ideally suited for use in workshops and test operating facilities.
The output voltage and power can be adapted to customer requirements in a wide range.
PowerSources offers application-specific customized DC power supplies with following basic concepts:
DB-GV: Voltage Preselection in multi-steps by a manual switch. For example: 420-600-720V (corresponds to 600V -30%/+20%) and 525-750-900V (corresponds to 750V -30%/+20%). Circuit design in this case: Transformer with taps for voltage selection by manually operated multi-stage switch with downstream silicon rectifier in three-phase bridge circuit with protective environment and full security lines.
DB-TY: Fully variable output voltage in the preselected voltage group (eg. group I: 420V to 720V, Group II: 525V to 900V) by thyristor controlled power group. Sophisticated monitorring and protection devices ensure reliable operation of these systems with maximum safety for the operator. The output voltage is free of harmonics (LC filter section). Up to 100kW, the units can be delivered as a mobile version.
